Two books by Fr. Dr. P. S. Varghese,Executive Vice Chairman of Christian College of Engineering and Technology & St.Thomas College, Bhilai India and Vicar of St.Mary’s Orthodox Church,Bhandara,Maharashtra,India were officially released on July 23, 2026, at the Center for Nonviolence & Peace Studies, University of Rhode Island (URI), USA, during the 27th International Nonviolence Summer Institute.
The books are Peace and Reconciliation in Community Life, authored by Fr. Dr. P. S. Varghese and published by Heritage Publishers, and Proud to Be a Teacher, co-authored by Fr. Dr. P. S. Varghese and Dr. Nimmi Varghese, and published by Orange Publications, Bhilai, India. While Peace and Reconciliation in Community Life explores peacebuilding, reconciliation, and community transformation through the philosophy of nonviolence, Proud to Be a Teacher presents 60 thought-provoking reflections on education, values, ethics, spirituality, peace, holistic education, and the noble mission of teaching.
The books were released in the presence of Dr. Thupten Tendhar, Director of the International Nonviolence Summer Institute; Mr. Richard Tarlaian, Certified Level III Kingian Nonviolence Trainer and former Rhode Island Police Officer; Asst. Prof. Deirdre Morrison; Mr. Shawn Lee, Director of the Peace and Nonviolence Providence Center; Mr. Jonathan Lewis, Certified Level III Kingian Nonviolence Trainer; Dr. Nimmi Varghese, Certified Level II Kingian Nonviolence Trainer; and the author Fr. Dr. P. S. Varghese, along with participants of the Level I and Level II Kingian Nonviolence Certification Training Program.
The release marks another significant milestone in Fr. Dr. P. S. Varghese’s literary and academic journey, reaffirming his commitment to promoting peace, holistic education, and community transformation through scholarship and nonviolence.
